Inspired by this recipe.
- One pack bacon
- Rock brown sugar
- Black pepper
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F, line baking pans with foil. Mix rock brown sugar with some pepper, dip bacon in the sugar and coat both sides generously, lay out on foil lined baking sheet and make sure they are not touching. Bake in oven for 20 minutes, take out and pour grease. Flip bacon and bake until crispy. Place on foil lined plate in single layers and place in fridge to crisp up.
These candied bacon were delicious! They came out crispy, with a little kick because of the black pepper. Super easy to make, and you can use any kind of bacon you want. I will try this again with other spices and perhaps some thicker smoked bacon. These would be excellent crumbled over a salad!
